What is Required to run an ATS CBT course?    Two components are needed to run Action Training Systems Computer-Based Training courses

1.       Action Training Systems (ATS) Course Content License
This is a license to use the course content that ATS produces, i.e our course on Fire Behavior. It is authored using the ILMS so you need ILMS software to play the course produced by ATS.

One course license is included with each course purchased and allows one person at a time to play a course. If more than one person needs to play a course at the same time additional course licenses are needed.
 

2.       Iluminar Learning Management System (ILMS) Software License (seat)

        This software platform allows you to play and manage ATS courses. The instructor application is called AdministrateIT and the student player application is called LearnIT.

The initial license for the system is $500 and includes one license for AdministrateIT and one license for LearnIT. This allows one person at a time to be on the system playing an ATS course. If more than one person needs to be on the system at the same time you will need additional LearnIT licenses. (chart 4.1)

Unless the number of people needing to access the system changes, the ILMS software license is a one-time investment to which you may add as many

        ATS courses as needed.

 In the example above, the course player application LearnIT can be installed on all 7 computers on the network, but only 4 people can be on the ILMS system at the same time.  The one additional course license for each course allows 2 people to play the same course at the same time.

For Example:

o           A department has 7 computers available for training – one being a laptop used with a projector by instructors for classes in their training room.

o           All computers are connected to a server on a Local Area Network (LAN). See figure above.

o           They want to get our Pumping Apparatus CBT course series The CBT courses must be accessible from all of their computers and they will have up to two people playing the same course at the same time.

o           They have determined that no more than 4 people will need to access the system at the same time.

Here is what they will need to purchase to make things work the way they want:

1.       Pumping Apparatus initial course licenses:  5 courses = $1080

2.       5 additional concurrent course use licenses for the pumper series = $150

3.       ILMS software licenses:  4 seats = $2000

Total = $3230

 If they want to add our HAZMAT Response series in the future here is what they need:

1.       HAZMAT Response initial course licenses: 7 courses = $1515

2.       7 additional concurrent course use licenses = $210

3.       ILMS software licenses: $0 one time purchase unless capacity need changes

Total = $1725

Minimum and recommended computer requirements for the software are listed in the table below:

Operating system needs to be Window Vista, Windows XP Professional or Windows 2000.  Windows Vista Home Basic not supported.  Additional disk space is required for course installation. Average course size is about 217 MB.  For example: installing 10 courses would require an additional 2.2 GB of disk space. Installing 47 courses would require an additional 10 GB of disk space.
